What is Ebola Virus?

In severe cases, a dark, livid redness develops on the face, trunk, and extremities that disappears in several days. After the 16th day, palms, soles and heels of feet, and extremities desquamate for a few days to two weeks. The redness is often accompanied by scrotal dermatitis or labial irritation.
- Ebola fever starts abruptly with fever, muscle pain, headache, and other influenza-like symptoms. Around day 5, an eruption followed by a rash, and even hemorrhage is seen. Patients have expressionless, ghost-like faces. Psychosis, delirium, seizures, and coma are often noted. With progressive disease, hemorrhage spreads from mucous membranes to other parts of body.
